Common Questions

Physiotherapy questions, answered

Do I need a GP referral to see a physiotherapist at ASPIRE?
No — you can book directly with ASPIRE Physiotherapy without a GP referral. A referral is only required if you want to claim Medicare rebates under an EPC (Enhanced Primary Care) plan or for WorkCover claims.
Are physiotherapy sessions covered by private health insurance?
Yes — physiotherapy at ASPIRE is rebatable through most major Australian private health funds including Medibank, Bupa, HCF, NIB, HBF and others. We process HICAPS on-the-spot so you only pay the gap at the time of your appointment.
How long is a physiotherapy appointment at ASPIRE?
Initial consultations are 60 minutes. Follow-up appointments are typically 30–45 minutes depending on your condition and treatment requirements.
Do you accept Medicare EPC referrals?
Yes — ASPIRE accepts Medicare Enhanced Primary Care (EPC) referrals under the Chronic Disease Management scheme, entitling eligible patients to up to 5 Medicare-subsidised sessions per year. Bring your GP referral letter to your first appointment.
Are you a registered NDIS provider?
Yes — ASPIRE Physiotherapy is a registered NDIS provider at both our Randwick and Ramsgate clinics. We accept Agency Managed, Plan Managed and Self Managed NDIS funding.
Do you accept WorkCover claims?
Yes — ASPIRE accepts WorkCover claims at both clinics. You will need an approved WorkCover claim number and a referral from your treating doctor before your first appointment.
What conditions does ASPIRE Physiotherapy treat?
ASPIRE treats a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions including back pain, neck pain, shoulder pain, knee pain, hip and groin pain, sports injuries, post-surgical rehabilitation, pelvic pain and more. See our conditions pages for full details.
Where is ASPIRE Physiotherapy located?
ASPIRE has two clinics — Randwick at 18 Belmore Road, Randwick NSW 2031 (serving the Eastern Suburbs), and Ramsgate at 247B Rocky Point Road, Ramsgate NSW 2219 (serving the St George and Shire region). Both are open Monday to Friday 7am–7:30pm and Saturday 7am–2pm.
How do I book an appointment?
You can book online via our booking pages for Randwick or Ramsgate, or call (02) 9326 7822. Same-day and next-day appointments are often available.
Do you offer clinical Pilates?
Yes — ASPIRE offers physio-led reformer Pilates at both clinics in boutique class sizes (maximum 5 participants). All Pilates sessions are health fund rebatable.
What is the difference between physiotherapy and clinical Pilates?
Physiotherapy is a hands-on one-on-one treatment for assessment, diagnosis and management of injury and pain. Clinical Pilates is a supervised group exercise program using reformer equipment, typically used for rehabilitation, core strengthening and injury prevention — often recommended as a complement to physiotherapy.
Can I use my health fund for clinical Pilates?
Yes — clinical Pilates at ASPIRE is rebatable through most private health funds under the Extras/Ancillary physiotherapy benefit. Check with your fund for your specific coverage level.
